About Tour:
This tour is envisaged for those, who prefer staying at one hotel to changing them everyday. During the four days you will be able to develop the general impression on the country, its history, culture, nature and traditions. Tour will start with visits to the sights of capital of Georgia – Tbilisi. We will be able to take a walk in old Tbilisi, enjoy diversity of its architectural styles, museums and oriental bazaars. We will also go to Kakheti, which is recognised for as the "land of wine"; Here, along with seeing the historic-cultural monuments, we will be visiting common family to enjoy traditional Georgian cuisine and hospitality. We will also visit the medieval city Sighnaghi, especially fascinating its guests after restoration works recently carried out. The third day of the tour will be dedicated to visit to the old capital of Georgia Mtskheta, which still remains the spiritual centre of the country and, together with its two unique temples - Mtskheta Jvari (VI AD) and Svetitskhoveli (XI AD) - is on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List. Besides this we will go to the important ancient city of Uplistsikhe (VI BC) located on the historical Silk Road and home town of Stalin - Gori. On the fourth day we will visit the monastery carved in the rocks of Gareji Desert; the monastery was established by one of the Assyrian Holy Fathers - David Garejeli - in 6th century.
Day 1:
Tbilisi - Old Town, Abanotubani (Bath District), Metekhi Temple, Mosque, Synagogue, Sioni Cathedral, Anchiskhati Basilica, Rustaveli Avenue. Overnight stop in Tbilisi.
Day 2:
Kakheti - Alaverdi Cathedral, Telavi, Tsinandali, Sighnaghi, Bodbe. Overnight stop in Tbilisi.
Day 3:
Mtskheta - Jvari, Svetitskhoveli; Gori - Uplistsikhe. Overnight stop in Tbilisi.
Day 4:
Davit Gareji. Overnight stop in Tbilisi.
Advice:
In Tbilisi we will be mainly walking. You will visit quite big number of Christian churches, part of which are the functioning monasteries, and therefore no persons in shorts are admitted.
The price of the tour includes:
